8th February 2008 - Fistral Beach, Newquay
Well my car's making some horrid grinding noises think the driveshaft has had it however that didn't stop us from heading down to the surf capital. Arrived at lunchtime on the lowtide and it was indeed pretty clean bout 5 - 6ft. Benny and I got kitted whilst the other two Jay and Tash stayed put which is pretty much what their winter bodyboarding has been like. Anyway bit of a struggle getting out being the 4th session of 2008 and still feel that I need to get my fitness back to last summers peak which was top notch. One too many mince pies over Christmas. Ok, so had a two hour session and caught no more that bout half a dozen really good waves. On the last two I didn't quite make the bottom turn and as a result got wiped clean from the barrel. Lost Benny for a while though I don't think he made it out back. Anyway resting proper now with a hot choc getting ready to paint something inspirational this evening. Tomorrow though heading out to Widmouth as it predicts to be bout 7ft cleaner than a virgins honey pot. Be nice to see the local boys as well...
